Why Is the UGC NET Re-Exam Being Conducted?

NTA decided to re-conduct the three papers after receiving complaints from candidates and reviewing the issues through a committee.

The review identified several problems, including:

  • Factual errors in questions
  • Typographical mistakes
  • Translation-related issues
  • Grammatical errors
  • Repeated questions
  • Concerns regarding the fairness of the affected papers

According to NTA, simply deleting the affected questions would not provide a sufficiently fair solution for all candidates. Therefore, the affected papers are being conducted again.

No.

Candidates appearing for the re-conducted English, Commerce or Sociology examination will not be required to pay an additional examination fee.

The re-examination is being conducted as a corrective measure for the affected papers.
